River Gauges and Cameras Mitigation Project

I have had a couple of other EMs and contractors ask about the Platte River Monitoring Project.  The intent was to increase  situational awareness of the river giving us an opportunity to increase warning time as well.  I was holding off until the project was complete, but we are still waiting for the final closeout documentation from NEMA, site inspections are complete.

Dodge County partnered with our Papio-MO NRD, Lower Platte N NRD, the City of Fremont, for the project.  We placed Cameras at the convergence of the Loup and Platte S. of Columbus, Schuyler Bridge, North Bend Bridge, Fremont Bridge, Leshara Bridge and additional gauges at Schuyler and Fremont.

We explored multiple vendors for cameras and gauges, but ultimately The NRDs felt more comfortable with the USGS program.

I am attaching some of the mitigation project documents. Hopefully the next jurisdiction finds it easier to install river monitoring equipment, I had to send information from Region 5, Region 6 and Region 8 where similar projects had taken place to show it is indeed a mitigation project.

If you have questions type it on here, as I am sure others may have the same question.
