    Emergency Management

    TITLE:  Deputy Emergency Management

    SUMMARY OF JOB:  Assist the Emergency Management Director with duties relating to the four phases ofemergency management: Mitigation, Preparedness, Response, and Recovery.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

    Perform work in support of the development, implementation, and coordination for the operation of a comprehensive county-wide emergency management program.

    Represent the Emergency Management Director in their absence.

    Responsible for frequent contact with associate personnel, other county departments, law enforcement agencies, emergency services personnel, etc.

    Assists in the overall management, administration, and oversight of the County Emergency Management Program.

    Help prepare local, state and federal grant applications and supporting documentation to obtain local, state and federal grant funding.

    Assists in Local Emergency Planning.

    Assists in developing and maintaining the County’s Emergency Operations Plan.

    Assist with the training of other agencies and personnel

     Assists in other duties as assigned.

    REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Some related experience preferred. Must be willing to participate in Emergency Management Performance Grant Training by completing required training in a timely manner. Must be computer proficient. Must be aself-starter with good organizational skills, attention to detail and able to prioritize.  In times ofcrisis, must be available to work at any given time of the day ornight. Wages based on experience.
